i went for a walk with Leanne to Cottesbrooke - and what a fitting tree-tribute!

ree

You may recall that I was stung by wild bees when checking out their home in an old oak. It was this tree. No bees this time.

But the tree is protecting a fairly large elm. We all need friends.

These acorns are on the oak who is eating a wooden fence post. I was worried about this tree a couple of years ago, but it is looking very well.

Though you can just about see the gall midge damage on the leaves.

We went past the pond where I used to watch a family of swans. A singe heron this time.
