Light, lightness, lightning

Did I mention the oak that I think was struck by lightning? I think so. I went back to take a look.

That wound is like a flesh wound. The redness and the look of muscle tissue? The bleeding. I have this as one of my Sentinel Trees now as I wonder how it will fare over the coming months and years.
This tree may have been struck by lightning some time in the past. A large part of it is dead.

Sadly, it has some bleeds consistent with Acute Oak Decline and I think I saw a D-shaped hole which suggests that the beetle who can transfer the condition was present in the tree.
This next image is a sycamore coming down with sooty bark disease, showing a rather delightful snail-trail sparkle that looks like the head of a lamb.

Now, to Kairos.

No ravens this time. In fact, it was very quiet. I was thinking about dreaming, or, rather, about not remembering my dreams. Nothing happened. I was happy.

On the way out of the wood, a shaft of light on the trunk of a beech.

Yes, I remember the oak with the red wound.
