Ripples and shimmers

I love the way that ripples can reflect on surfaces... so you see the ripples on the water and then the shadow-ripples on the blocks supporting the decking, or on the trunk of a willow.
Late afternoon light is best. The golden glow. My mother talked of holding on to Golden Moments and there is a honey-sweetness to certain angles of light which can render even the normal moment golden.
After the gold, the silver of, I guess, snail trails on a tree trunk captured me.
Now the light has a blue tinge to it... deeper into evening? But there is gold there too... The colours confound me.

I like what your mother said.
