A rare gift of intimacy

At first I thought it was a youngster, but I actually believe this is Falco in a sort of mid-molt stage.

That was confirmed by his "sentry duty" at the end.

The garden still seems quiet. And I have a feeling there are fewer insects about. Plus there are so many cats! In fact, I think that Falco tolerated me because he was alarming at the black cat and I chased it away. This might have been an acknowledgement of a job well done.

I wonder how much food the foxes get as at least three different cats may appear when they hear me put out the left -over cat food.

I stood there last night, trying to discourage the cats, and did see a pipistrelle. Another little reward.

Falco has to work very hard at the preening! Too bad that the visiting cats are complicating things
