Fable Oak

Along from the Copse Oak is another oak who may be even older, though this one has far less canopy.

The trunk, like the Burred Behemoth I saw in Devon earlier this year, is covered in burrs and ivy.

There's also one of those strange algal markers.

When I was looking at the tree and the ivy, I sensed CLIMB! And so I did, hanging onto the thick vines. Before I had got more than a few feet off the ground, I realiased I was kind of inside the ivy––a huge vine was around my back.

I found myself saying, "I'm trapped! Caged! Prevented!"

"No," I sensed. "You are held. Protected."

The tree told me that I could regard it as a home-from-home; a huge oaken reminder of something precious in Devon.
