Garden life and times

This morning I saw Mr and Mrs plus one of the babies. These photos were taken the day before, when Tane took a break from parenting.

As well as the cat causing the birds to alarm constantly, they are also anxious about the magpies. Twice, I have seen the blackbirds trying to chase off a magpie. I have not seen any blackbird babies and am not sure what stage they are at, though one of the males already looks a little the worse for wear.
I have seen a bird, twice, that I do not recognise. I think it may be a chiffchaff, but as I don't hear chiffchaffs singing at home, I am unsure. There was one here last summer.
The wrens have been singing a lot.

Today I was watching two blue tits. One was eating a nut and the other grumbled, so the first gave that one the nut. I have not seen this before. The second was not a fledgling, I don't think, so I assume it was a female.
Wonderful to see, and hear about the garden's going's on. (The blackbirds are working hard as protectors.)
