I don't mean to be vulgar, but...

...there is something very "female anatomy" about these...

Maybe it's all in my head.

Or maybe it's influenced by reading Hexes of the Deadwood Forest. I bought this (in Utrecht) because it's about trees. But it's more about sex. Far too much sex and in far too many ways. The style has the gusto of Chaucer's dirty stories... a style I recall finding hard to like in a novel calle Aberystwyth, Mon Amour, which I bought for the title. Also Lauren Goff's Fates and Furies. I just don't like it. The style. But, having paid twenty euros for the darn thing, I guess I will have to continue.

Something else I don't like... well, though it was probably not one... I was worried I had seen an Asian hornet in the garden. They are bee predators and one must tell the authorities if one sees one (as it were). Looking at the cheat-sheet... I think I just saw a hornet in the garden. A European one. Or maybe it was a wasp!!! I can tell hornets at the Reserve, so I am sure that it was larger than a wasp. It seemed very orange.

On flying, stinging things... this is the bee who chased the black bees.

It looks quite cute, but it was really nasty to the black bees!
