A Crone picnic. My famous orange soup. It's not made of oranges, though does involve lemons and is very tasty. And coffee. And some vegan chocolate that was so hard I broke my denture and had to head to the hospital. But never mind about that.
First thing was, all these birds! The sound of them!
What birds? No idea. They looked like this.
Fieldfares I think. There were also chaffinches and goldfinches in the hedgerows. They'll be heading north again soon, I guess, the fieldfares.
Next up, bigger birds.
The bottom left is a cormorant. The bottom right is probably a crow, but I'd heard a raven earlier and I like to think this is she.
I was also taken by an oak trunk.
Isn't that just wonderful?? Omphalos.
And I had fun with some blossoms.
Almost the best part, though, was watching a muntjac tangle with a bramble!
Wonderful images. Love the sound of all those little birds. Your picnic sounded great except for the denture incident. My first impression looking at that beautiful bump was of a crystal ball. Then I searched for your Omphalos and found the meaning. Cool. Gosh I wonder what the muntjac was finding to eat. They would have enjoyed some of your orange soup maybe!
