Oak life

A rare trip to the small circular copse near the copse where the poplars are. I was hoping to see roe deer. Disappointed in that but delighted by this oak. This is the one with the dead branches on the front page. Here, on the stem, you can see where the bark has covered over the tear from a lightnight strike. The branches may have died, but the tree recovered.

I headed back to see the Copse Oak, who lost a branch a month or six weeks before Kairos. He doesn't look as though he's suffering any regrets.

In the set-aside in front, a little one. I so hope this does not get ploughed up.

Happy news about the two big oaks. And good luck to the wee oak. xx
