Note: I originally wrote this haiku and took the photo at the very beginning of June. It's now June 18 and the lilacs are 99% done. But I am still wondering about bees and what they sniff -- and likes and dislikes. Here's a good article. When I wrote the poem I was actually thinking about bumblebees because they are who I see in gardens. I bet they're good sniffers too. I used to keep honeybees years and years ago.
