Actually, Dave took this photo, using his super-dooper lens.
His camera, it turns out, is the same sort of thing as mine, same genus and family, but a professional version.
Anyway, much talk of ISO, f-stop and shutter speed. I think I get it. But it will take a lot of practice! Still, it was great to explore a bit and change some settings.
I had to crop most of these as I was using my best lens which can't zoom as much as his. He said he reckons I'll want one like his in a year's time. Cost more than all my kit combined!!!
Actually, I think Dave may have taken the first heron pictures, but I genuinely did take the rest.
I would have stayed longer, picking his brains and messing about with the settings, had I not started to shiver with cold. Photography seems to be a chilly occupation.
