Playing with light

Actually, it was more of a mistake, but I do love how these burnt out images look!

There's something very odd... hyper-real and artificial at the same time!

Talking of light, I do love the transparency of leaves.

Yet they are capturing light, are they not, to break up carbon dioxide. How miraculous. And then those veins... they carry water to the leaves... presumably they also carry sugars away.

I have been watching the ivy climb the lilac. It climbed then stopped as the leaves came out. Once the leaves were out, it started climbing again. Who knew?

Sheep and deer love it. In the Reserve, the ivy has no leaves below muntjac browse height.

Tane does not co-operate for the photographs. He lands in the shade.

That first image "enlightens" the scene. Looks like a painting. Your post makes me think the Light Eaters book that I'm still reading -- especially that bit about the ivy's decisions. Always good to see Tane -- in shade or sun ...
