Pretty in pink... or red

The May is out! As it should be...

It has an edge, the odour, of rot, but I still like it. However strong the scent, it doesn't repulse me as it does Mischa, for example. Maybe I'd like the famously stinky durian fruit?

There's a saying, the thorn is the father of the oak, something like that. Thorny shrub moves in fast and can protect seedling trees from deer. You have to love the thorns for that.

Talking of thorns, this beauty is back!

This rose has a subtle scent, not so the crimson one on the patio. I sank my nose in red velvet and inhaled. Pure bliss.

The lilac's perfume is waning, but it's still lovely.
