You know, I just want to tell them I'm vegan and opposed to all forms of hunting... but there remains that ambiguity... the knowledge that the numbers of deer make the woodlands suffer and that woodland being also matters... maybe the muntjacs are right to run away. Not the hares and foxes and badgers though!

I have been out there to try to escape my work/money anxiety and it works when I am there as nearly all that is in my mind is what I see and hear. I try to walk quietly. Heel first is better. But the animals still hear or see and run or fly away!
Sometimes I think of how I used to work at the Reserve and how long ago that seems.
Sometimes I think of how it would be great to write something about this wandering around in all weathers. But words don't do it justice.
Sometimes I stop and sit and nothing happens.
