Seeing the wood and the trees

Writer: CroneCrone

...or vice versa. And, yes, I appreciate the picture doesn't immediately fit the bill... it's just funny that the viewing area is inaccessible due to the high level of water in the reservoir.

The sun was shining and there was actually warmth in it: such a blessing. I was disappointed as my attempts to photograph garden birds in good light were foiled by the lack of garden birds. So off I went.

I saw a hare running away from another walker and various muntjac running away from me and other walkers. I saw a squirrel who traveled, it seemed, from one dray to another. Do squirrels split their litters so they don't have all their eggs (baby squirrels) in one basket? The squirrel was not forthcoming. I heard many tits (blue, great, coal and long-tailed), robins, wrens, blackbirds, song thrushes, corvids (jay, crow, rook, jackdaw and raven), coots, gulls and woodpeckers. The Merlin app claimed a blackcap was there. I saw a goldfinch, kite, buzzard, cormorant, ducks, and swans.

I saw with Kairos for a long time. I was not doing anything.

The video records the work and my ongoing fascination with bark.
