... and so is song! The blackbird was singing to himself in the hedge.
It was lovely to hear him. Of course, I then went too close and scared him out of the hedge.
As you can see, I pretty much scared everyone. It was cold, though, and they were all eager to eat suet pellets. It takes a lot for Garden Robin to feed in front of me.
The blue tits are always the most present.

Turns out, there's some research about Great tit language done by Japanese researchers - evidence for, as they say, "compositional syntax". Must be the case with the blues and the coal tits.
And I am pretty sure that starlings converse a lot!

And the dunnocks, who often stay with their mate.

I noticed that I was being watched...

So, off I went to the park with crow food.







Oh I imagine Garden Robin will decide to be a bit more grateful as the cold weather continue. I liked seeing the bird-people on the video. I always get a kick out of the starlings on the antennae. Interesting about the tits and compositional syntax. Rings a bell. I've read something similar somewhere. Fav. photo is that of one of the crows watching and telling you firmly to get to the park!!
