Swimming...

...in the depths of the azure sky.

Back in Northamptonshire, and I went for a run. It was warm enough for shorts and a vest top. The feeble hope of keeping the more pleasing colour that has accrued on arms and legs.

Coming along a field, and I stopped, the sky speckled with black - rooks and jackdaws in a crowd, coming together and apart, a flock becoming gatherings, becoming flock, becoming gatherings and then dispersing until it were as though I had imagined the cawing calling cloud of shining black. And there, up, up, up, four birds, swimming between clouds in a blue as deep as promises.

I remembered that, just here, by a stand of poplars, my friend said he saw a goshawk last week. A goshawk! I searched the horizon, near and far, but just a single pigeon broke from the trees.

Still, I had seen the corvids in their sky dance and the sun shone.

Lovely post & photos. Lyrical descriptions. And I had fun hunting up the definitions of azure (colour of blue on a clear day, bw. blue & cyan) and cyan is bw. blue & green. Cool. 😎
