I had just posted on YouTube a video that I alleged would be the last, the very last, as I never saw the robins. Next day, look who showed up!

He was as confident and curious as ever, and then chased off the Garden Robin, who returned and prevented Tane from doing so.

I can hear three singing most mornings, and I sometimes here subsong. But the presence, the interaction, means so much.

I wanted to post that stuff yesterday about the "necessary distance" because it feels so important to me. Undifferentiation denies the possibility of relationship. And what arises through relationship is different from both parties, not just that both are changed by it, but that the space of between is always shared. And yet there is always more beyond the relationship, the depth of the other, if you like, and the depth of the self.

When I read McGilchrist, the Master book even more than the new one, I feel such a sense of affinity. I do feel that what I think and can't express is expressed, maybe with some quibbles, but nothing hugely significant.

Hurrah for the robins! Tane is looking so handsome as well as "confident and curious".

Thanks also for your additional thoughts after yesterday's post -- why our differences matter and are necessary. Yes, I have a sense of that.
