I managed to get a little closer to the crows this time.
The first two pictures feature one of the Driveway Pair. They often see me as soon as I leave the house - even if I am getting out of the car or coming up the road. As soon as i put food down for them, I turn around and walk away so they will land. But I sneak looks over my shoulder to see them glide down gracefully, with the ends of their wings tipping upwards. So beautiful. When they land - I have some sequences but they are out of focus - they push forward their feet to take the shock, but it does look like a shock when you see static images, not when you watch in real time.
The last four pictures show Divo, who is the least afraid of me among all the crows. He's the only one who'll walk forward while I am facing him - but I must step back. He's still wary of me watching, as you can see in the picture of him taking food.
The Unbraves are clever. If I put food down at the back of the football changing rooms and they can't see because they are foraging on the other side, I walk around and call them and they fly over the building to get the food! But often, though I can't see them, they have seen me and fly in as I walk away.
The Playground Pair seem to be the most closely bonded. While the Flyings come in separately, the Playgrounds always come together. they are the most gentle with each other. I usually don't try to take pictures of them as they are gradually becoming more tolerant of me.
This video shows Divo and then a squirrel and pigeon near the Driveways. This pigeon was far more tolerant than the pigeons who visit the garden.
Good pics and video. I enjoyed seeing the pigeon and the squirrel -- and of course the crows.
