The Little Winter King!

I was so happy to - finally - get a picture of a wren! I often hear them - more so when I am out and about than in my garden; and I catch sight of them.. in fact, there are various places where I look out for wrens and will see or hear one there for a while, each time I pass by.
It was also nice to get a shot of the pied wagtail. A pair visit and one bullies the other. It's like the crows: in some pairs there is a distinct hierarchy. The Divines are like that, not so much the Driveways and the Playgrounds. Oh, and in this video I think you will see the Driveways.
That reminds me: a few days ago I did the run that takes me through the Rec to feed the crows and then down the street, through the common, through a village and back home. None of the crows came down on the way through the Rec. I saw them, and threw down food, but they didn't land.
On the way home, looking across the pub car park I saw crows in the sycamore at the end of my neighbours' garden. They watched me. When I got to the front door, one flew over the house and landed on my guttering to look at me. So I went back to the Rec, and offered more food, but still the crows ignored it. Very odd.
The day after I filmed Tane, he returned again. He was right next to me on the green box, then flew down to land five inches from my feet. He looked up at me, I looked down at him and we stayed like that until he got bored and left.
On these occasions, I know I am missing something and I feel very stupid.
Dave took a rather more effective photo of a wren!

Wrens are cute!
