Tree alert!

This was a task I intended to do some time back. But I should have left it until later in the year. There were four species I couldn't identify. Thank goodness for oaks, horse chestnuts, birches and beeches. This one was especially interesting.

The trip was also meant to include a run. I did run. But of course had to keep stopping for the trees and the park wasn't as big as I'd thought. Still. Two birds. One stone. Even if I only stunned the birds rather than killing them. Nasty thought.

Talking of stunned birds, a blue tit was foraging near the back door when I scared them and they flew into the glass. Flew off again but, oh, I felt bad. It probably wasn't this one.

Bees have started to visit. The neighbour's thorn (?) tree is the primary nectar source at the moment.

Not a lot of news. Tried to photograph the flying gulls. They wouldn't co-operate.

The crows still hate the camera.

Oh, and as if the old misery isn't enough, I now have three separate hospital visits expected in the next two months. I am falling apart. If I wasn't a Crone when I started, I sure am now.

I was trying to decide what those massive above ground beech roots remind me of ... hmmm, maybe an elephant foot 😏 ... I like that big bee and blossom pic (what's she hanging on to? the blossom itself? the base of the blossom, I suppose). I'm surprised the crows haven't got used to the camera but I suppose they are playing it very safe). Poor tit that hit the glass. Good luck at the hospital.
