I saw a patch of completely smooth earth. As first I thought it was a deer scrape - but the deer make their scrapes on the lee side of trees or bushes and don't clear the earth so thoroughly. the artist was in fact a tree.
The windswept branch is like one of those Etch-a-Sketch toys!
Here, the beauty of cut wood.
These are from the oaks who had AOD and were felled for research. Whenever I see this I feel sad that i cannot take it home.
That's really cool that you caught the artist in action, and yes, I had an Etch a Sketch. The cut wood is very beautiful. I love how cracks radiate out from the centre.
