In between chores and commitments, I took myself to the Reserve for some tree time.
I found a lovely willow and sat in the branches, just listening. But in terms of pictures, the water... oh... I love these images!!
I can share the experience of just sitting.
On the way back, I noticed one patch of willows whose bark had been stripped. The colour of the exposed wood... I thought I was seeing painted poles.
Now, I know that a chemical in willow bark has anti-inflammatory properties, but what was interesting was that the bark strippers seemed to have picked two particular trees next to each other. Were these two individuals (or clones - they were side by side) particularly rich in salicin? And if so, how did the animal know? Is there a scent?
I also spotted an interesting snail. I think it may be a lake limpet.

The squirrels here didn't want to be seen - and I think this one thought she was hidden!

What beautiful water images and meditation video!! Interesting questions you raise about the startlingly red stripped bark!! That's a cool limpet. And the hiding squirrel with bum exposed makes me laugh :-D x
