Five alive!

Updated: Oct 28, 2022

For the first time in a few weeks, all three of the Divines' fledglings were on the food hunt.

There were a few scuffles - as Divo tried to hog everything for himself. But he didn't seem to be especially picking on White Wing.

The kids didn't seem unduly put out by this father forceful parenting.

And what was lovely for me was that the young crows were almost as accepting of me as the adults. They all flew down as soon as I started distributing food and all came quite close.

You can see White Wing coming in to land.

While I was watching them, two lads came over to chat. Chris - whom I know a bit - and Matt. It turns out they both feed crows but at two different parks! Matt says they love Monster Munch.

Divo chases me round the park, run-hopping in that sideways, wing-flapping style which seems unique to crows. He is adorable - even if a bit of a grumpy dad.

I also saw the Driveways, the Flying Two and the Brave Three.

Here's Three...

Droopy and Four waited until I had gone.

That's neat about the human network of crow feeders. I don't think we have Monster Munch here. Ha.

You had a busy day at the park! Great photo of the Divines. You caught White Wing's white wings as she landed. Cool. And I like your description of Divo's run-hopping and observations of the young ones learning about you :-) I wonder if they'll all get even more attentive at feeding time as the weather cools.

Replying to

The other day, only the three kids were there. Just one - Dark Wing, was brave enough to eat without the parents - though all three were waiting in 'their tree'. Then the seagulls tried to steal the food so White Wing and Grey Wing joined their brother!!
