Before I get into that - see this? A bone right by Kairos. First time I had noticed it. It must have been brought there as it was on top of the leaves. But it was an old bone. So large, too... maybe a muntjac's back thigh, I suppose.
I wonder who delivered it?

Once upon a time, I had a poster of Flaming June up in my house. I liked the painting and the colours and, indeed, the title. The last two are echoed in this montage.
The needles must be larch, I suppose and the ash leaves remain rather yellow. Beech is probably the brightest.
It's also fungi time and I liked this little chap alongside what I guess are the shoots of moss?
On a more muted palette, dried oak leaves, lichen and a beech trunk. I think it was a beech.

I mentioned Harriet Rix's The Genius of Trees. I came across the story in there of Margaret Mee and the Moonflower - of which you can read a version here. It's quite affecting.

I went to the link and read about Margaret Mee and the moonflower. It's remarkable how some people live their lives. I like how you went from Flaming June (new to me) to the colours of Flaming Fall.
