Pictures taken before the trees had fully leafed out... now, spying is even harder!
I love the pigeon even more hidden than the jay!
OK, so the dunnock was out in the open, but these guys have been much harder to see of late. They are, I suppose, finding enough to eat in the hedges and borders without venturing out.
I se the starlings every day, but rarely manage a "clean" shot at this distance.
I wonder if this is the same magpie as the one who watches me intently at the edge of the park, where the Driveways are?
All of them clock me. And, I guess, recognise me or are somewhat familiar with me. I think they are better at distinguishing me among my species than I am at distinguishing an individual jay or magpie.
Mind you, this one is, I think, different (or just damaged?) as he seems to have a rather shortened tail.
Not that you'd know from most of the pictures.
You made great use of the stage of the leaves (part way out) to take the I Spy photos. Good idea for a post theme. Goes along with the speculation of who's who and identifying individuals. And I agree they watch you as much as you watch them.(And speculating too, in their own ways, no doubt.) I enjoyed seeing more of the magpies.
