Living and dying in the countryside

This tree is quite dramatic! I wonder if it was struck by lightning? It seems so strange that one part of it is looking so healthy!

I saw some bleeds on trees, though, so maybe it was AOD. Still, some of them look wonderful!

I felt impressed with myself because for the third day, despite the heat, I managed a trot. And, given the weather, I actually put on sunblock!

Later, the garden, I heard the magpies shouting and went to scare the grey and white kitten out of the tree. Later, the magpie child was perching on a chair on the patio, having a conversation with itself. It gave the pigeons a talking to as well. I feel very fond of the magpies.

Hermes has not visited––nor has Brock. I wonder if the heat has deterred the badger?
