I know that you'll be wondering - and here's the latest news.
After the hottest days and before the rain fell, I saw Divo, Diva and THREE babies! The next time I saw them, there were only two - who were practicing flying in a lively breeze but landed to eat the treats.
I also saw Droopy, Three and their scrawny-necked little one. I saw them again the following day, and the baby recognised me and started toward me. He is very sweet, and I have decided to call him Four. The day after, he tried to eat with the Divas. He baby-called at them and flew in but Divo chased him off. He flew back again soon after - until he saw Droopy and Three eating at their place and went back there, where he ate and chased off the gulls. He is a real character!
In fact, I began to wonder if when I saw three young with the Divines, the third was actually Four? He insistently tried to eat with them again the next time I went out (when the two baby Divines had been flying around). His parents were not there, so when I did put food down in 'their place' he did not go to it. It seems that he judges food as 'stuff that other crows are eating' rather than as a concept in its own right, if you see what I mean.
Plus, I have seen the two Flyings and two Driveways - no young in evidence there.
Crow-gress! A coming together 😃 And making progress on the drawing. Lovely head. Cool. I enjoyed hearing about Four and their antics !!
