Mother and grave

A friend had told me that she'd been at a seminar where the subject of communicating with trees had come up and the impression was that this is becoming more common. She worries about it becoming "commodified". I guess it already is to some extent with "plant communicators" having websites and selling various things.
Anyway, I said I would ask Kairos about this.
On the way I stopped by the Goddess Oak and realised that in profile she looks pregnant. The Gravid Goddess. With the belly-bottom hole in the middle of a rounded belly.
It was strange to see that as last time I had looked at her I had seen the devil face.
When I sat with Kairos, I asked about the trees and the many people who have started talking to them.
He said that the Land is trying to communicate. There used to be channels (I am thinking of “thin places” in Celtic terms where the veil between real world and spirit world is thin) but people can’t find them anymore of hear what the Land has to say. Thus, the Land asked the trees, because people relate more easily to trees. That is why trees are calling people to connect.
I asked what the Land wants to say, and it seemed I needed to lay my head on the earth. It smelt peppery and delightful. I saw an image that comes from the old Ladybird books, of Snow White and Rose Red waking on the edge of a cliff. They had been walking in the dark and something, I can't recall, maybe a bear, had guided them to stop and they had slept. On waking, they realise that had they gone further, they would have fallen. I had the sense that my path is narrow, on the cliff edge. And the Land seemed to say, “I am your mother and your grave. Follow your path; you are on the edge but I won’t let you fall into the abyss.” Or something like that, but I may have imagined it all.
It reminds me of something that came to me before with trees: the place where love and death meet.

Thin places -- I like that.
