The Garden Robin is still not keen on me - and even less keen on Tane whom he chased away with incredibly cross cheeps and chirrups.

He will sit and subsing in the holly and in the acer, though, and it's nice to hear him.

On which... I loved this quote from Comanche Moon about the Kickapoo tracker, Famous Shoes"

The man would walk a thousand miles to listen to a certain bird whose call he might want to mimic. Most people thought Famous Shoes was crazy, but Buffalo Hump didn’t. Though a Kickapoo, the man had respect for the old ways. He behaved like the old ones behaved; the old ones, too, would go to any lengths to learn some useful fact about the animals or the birds. They would figure that someone might need to know those facts; they themselves might not need to, but their children might, or their grandchildren might. - Comanche Moon, Larry McMurtry

Finally, and completely randomly, some sheep.

So Garden Robin is a tad irascible. At least he sings. I like the quote. Had never heard of Comanche Moon but I see it's part of a popular series. Liked the random sheep too.
