On not being at home

You have to work. Well, I do. It's just a bit of a shame that it's so far from home, meaning that if I have more than a few days in a row, I need to find some alternative accommodation. Usually budget hotels. On this occasion, also some nights at a friend's house.

I haven't even got to that stage yet. It's bad enough, maybe worse, when I have to go home late and leave the next day. Why? Well, a certain cat will want a series of meals over at least 90 minutes after my midnight (in this case, at the very earliest) arrival. Then I need to leave again at 10:30 the next day. Yup, that's right. Maximum of 9 hours between cat stopping mewing and me leaving again.

So what, you may say, that gives you 8 hours sleep and a generous hour to get up etc.

Well, think again, Critic.

  1. The cat will not stop mewing.

  2. Insomnia.

  3. Have to feed the cat and the birds and pack bags for staying away and/or meals to get through work day before I leave all of which takes more than an hour.

  4. Yes. It does.

  5. The cat will not stop mewing.

You'd think I'd therefore be happier to stay away. But away means someone else's house!

Whatever, I am very depressed/anxious/sad/tired (already).
