One prayer answered

Writer's picture: CroneCrone

So, occasionally, I have been able to see Tane...not long visits, and not especially relaxed, but so much better than nothing!

As a special treat, occasionally, Tapdance makes an appearance too!

I have a suspicion that these two are both children of Mottled Breast.

Another prayer that came true was my desperate plea for the second of two horror shifts to go better than the first. The first was a dog's dinner. My first voice over that night took about 15 takes and it was only a minute and a bit of audio. I virtually had a meltdown. The rest wasn't much better. But last night, I was on song! No pick ups after the bosses had watched them either. That was such a blessing. To end a tough run (three late shifts, two of them really tough and the one in the middle easy but still late) on a high. And the next day, I was booked for some work from home.

The birds' prayers haven't been answered though: it snowed yesterday and has been bitter today. I put out extra food, but I think a young squirrel and the starlings ate most of it.

I’ve just read Ron Broglio’s Animal Revolution which I really enjoyed. It’s a book written in handy-bite-size chapters that asks us to re-think the way we consider what is turned human-animal conflict. He’s not selling a Marxist case for Animal Resistance but is showing that by thinking differently we can see what we have done wrong that leads to these outcomes… it ranges through history and is very easy reading and yet it’s also in line with my Orca paper! In fact, he writes:

Believing and heeding their call can change who we are, can change the human world, and transform the earth on which all beings dwell. – Ron Broglio (2022, 129)

Glad to see and compare the mug shots of Tane and Tapdance. And I appreciate you sharing some of your work experiences. Helps me understand. The book sounds worthwhile. Hopeful/challenging quote.
