Oxford birds

Yes, well... I met up with four other women - three fellow students and one of our tutors for something of a reunion.
We went to an exhibition, The Wonder of Birds, where many Jackie Morris works were on display and texts written by Robert Macfarlane. The pair have written a book, which looks fabulous... but at £35 I thought I'd have to resist. There is also an audio version, apparently, which features the calls of the birds. But, obviously, no Jackie Morris.
The photographs are a bit poor because all the exhibits were behind glass and the light flickered.
I liked this small exhibition very much––but I think it might have done more to stress the threats birds face. It was, as a Bodleian event, more focused on birds in books, than birds in the world. Even so, I think it might have offered a little more in the way of a call to action.
