Darn.


I seem to have become almost as addicted to the Seek app as to the Merlin one.


So, for example, this rather unfocused photo is Sainfoin.

The farmers grow it in the set aside, along with Clover and Alfalfa (the first of the coming photos - the other shows a yellow type of Clover with Red Clover behind), as it is nitrogen fixing.

This is Colt's Foot. Which was growing wild.

And here the beautifully named (but badly photographed) Selfheal!

Selfheal has a long tradition of being used in herbal medicine for everything from stopping bleeding and healing wounds, to treating heart disease and sore throats.


I have wanted to find Mugwort and St John's Wort - but no joy there.

We have lots of selfheal in parts of our so-called lawn. They start to bloom early and much appreciated by the bumblebees!
