I wasn't expecting the badger, as he seems to visit sporadically and I thought had been there on the previous evening, so I was not too disappointed not to see him. What was great was to see that there are still two fox cubs––one rather warier than the other!
In other garden news, I saw a dunnock the other day, looking remarkably dapper. In the back lilac, the pigeon is again sitting on a rather threadbare nest, while someone small... who may have been a young wren or a young chiffchaff (I could not well judge the size)... was flitting between the branches. AND, the highlight, Tane, who has almost finished his moult. This made me very happy. Briefly.
