Presence

The thing about actually being there, or rather, being here right now. That's been on my mind. That's what seems to matter. There are all these online programmes and books, but what seems to be critical to me is being in the place - body and mind, with eyes, ears, heart open. Here. Now.

It's not about the thinking and the ideas. It's not about the theories or even, really, the feelings. It's about letting the world that you are actually in come in.

All the time, being aware that this is what it is HERE and NOW.

It's so easy when I am out with the Standing People.

The last few times I visited Kairos, I did not go past the Goddess Oak, so i made sure to do that on this occasion. And on this occasion I saw the heart in her branches. And I saw the light come in.

As I sat with Kairos, all around me, the light was illuminating, enlightening. Kindling the fires inside.

I sent this picture to CC and she said:

My first thought was that it reminded me of some sort of symbiosis, Second thought is of transformation. Perhaps an autumn leaf in a brief caught moment of light and beauty and change. I like that we're left to make of it as we wish. And I've just now thought of fire/ light in the darkness.

This intrigued and inspired me as I hadn't thought of symbiosis or transformation. But the latter seems so right. I think of light as what gives life and then of the fire that burns life up.

When you look with eyes opened to beauty, a snail's trail is a silver plating.

And a hollowed out trunk is abstract art.

Be here, now, and switch your inner light on.

There is a Norwegian word, losji, which refers to finding contentment and peace of mind in nature. I don't know of the word for finding in nature the transformative fire of life-death... maybe that word is alchemy?
