My record of two trips to Pitsford.
I was feeding the birds and checking Sentinel Trees. Had I found any badger activity, I could have done tasks for all three Trusts I volunteer for. Anyway, the bird feeding turned into rodent feeding.
I was sitting by the Wayfarer Oak - and thought about the intertwining of nature and culture and about the sheer beauty of the earth's dying back for winter.
The next time, a little more focus on the water. I don't know who this nice little diving bird is.
The squirrel selects the sunflower seeds. She opens them and leaves only husks.
On the way back, I saw a corpse I hadn't noticed on the way down.
I can't work out the cause of death. That was the only visible injury - but I did not turn the rat over. And I don't know if that was done post-mortem. It seems unlikely as I'd expect eyes to be selected before the cheek.
Good assortment. I liked watching the diving duck dive.
