Well, not really... When I got back from the excellent ballet - having avoided the roadworks more effectively on this trip so that I was not caught in traffic for half an hour - I went out to leave the rejected cat food for the fox.
I saw the moon. Bright and brilliant. I stood gasping.
Hello, Moon! Hello, Moon!
I could hear a rustling in the bushes. And before I came out I had heard something big banging outside, enough to get the cats' attention. Was it the fox, wondering where his food was? Or has a hedgehog come back? Or was it just the neighbourhood tabby?
I stood still. Listening. I couldn't tell. Occasionally faint rustling. Silence.
Then, a call, wee wee wee! What was THAT? Rodent or night bird? A man made something? Wee!
I stood still. Listening. Silence.
Then I looked to where I had laid the food... could I see a shape? Was that eyes, glistening? But no... glistening specks swarmed across the darkness... dust? Insects? Optical illusions? The night was full of glimmers, like the moon was casting a powdery presence around the world.
A portal into otherness.

Yes it was a fine moon!
