That a tree can be metal

and unleaved

does not disturb her.

A perfect tree is a high place

offering a view of mice.

That land can be hard, black

and unvegetated

does not disturb her.

Perfect land is just 'down there'

where mice cannot hide.

That the large ones have two legs

not four

does not disturb her.

Perfect large ones ignore her

and do not compete for mice.

That the air is loud with sound

and unclean

does not disturb her.

Perfect air is for flying through

on the way to catching mice.
