This would be a perfect photograph if I hadn't cut his feet off.

He does not look quite so elegant here.

She still seems a rather calmer person.

But none of the birds are calm when the cat is about. The cat is very pretty and always shows up when I leave the fox food out as the cat thinks it is cat food. Actually, it is cat food, but it's not for the cat.

Anyway, the presence of this feline leads to a great deal of distress on the part of the birds. Even if the cat doesn't chase them (and I think he or she has done some death-dealing), the energy of all those alarm calls, and the stress. It's not great.

It is nearly dark as I am writing and the blackbirds have been shouting for the last twenty minutes or so. Sometimes, rain is a blessing.

I do like the blackbirds (don't have them here). Yes the cat plays a role in the garden community.
