Thinking in place

Writer: CroneCrone

There's something about my mood of anxiety and depression that leads me to want to be outdoors and specifically to visit Kairos. So I have spent a lot of time at the Reserve lately.

This first video really shows how animals run away from me. Or from humans. They really don't trust us. And, who can blame them?

Trees, thankfully, are unable to escape.

In the morning before I went out, I'd attended a zoom meeting about communicating with plants. It was very interesting as all that I have experienced - like how "presence" is more apt that consciousness; about that wu wei non-doing is more apt than being; about how the individual is part of the whole and that the dying of an individual is part of a process and accepted by the whole... a kind of communality that's hard to express... yes, all this, the host said she had picked up from plants and she said that it has come up in all the different groups she is hosting.

We had a conversation and the question was "What is the place where love and death meet?" Our initial response was "wisdom", or, rather, "the wise heart".

And, as ever, the beauty of bark called me.

I enjoyed the videos. That busy woodpecker and the others. And of course the beauty of bark - the textures, repeating patterns, colours ...
