Annual review

I only go to the doctor for my annual review. Then I see a nurse. I have, in fact, never seen any of the doctors at this practice. Every time I go, there is something wrong. This time, they told me I needed to go back as the blood tests hadn't been usable, goodness knows what that means. Even so they sent me a text saying I might have diabetes.
Anyway, I decided to walk there and that meant I could go via a park with some nice old trees.
I caught sight of some interesting fungi - some on a long-fallen trunk, some reaching out of decayed holes where branches had been lost. The lovely bark of a sycamore - I think - caught my eye, as well as a rather tortured looking oak. Saw a few nervous squirrels - and, in the grounds of the Roman Catholic Church, a healing garden with a shrine to Our Lady.
It was a half hour walk each way - but I added a few detours. The nurse told me there was nothing to explain why I had been sent a text about diabetes. I had to admit to my binge drinking, in case that influenced anything. So, now I am waiting to discover if the cholesterol and immune deficiency they found last year will still be raising red flags.
Maybe I'll just not read the texts.
