The trailcam had another night out in the garden. I was glad to see all the usual suspects. And I made a lovely film of the highlights.
There were a lot of videos on the fox chomping. Which were sweet but maybe not that fascinating. Some of the hog chomping too. Again, not thrilling. I think Ratty made a brief appearance.
What I especially like about it, well, there are a lot of things...
How the fox creeps in the section with the hedgehog in the foreground. I think he's ready to pounce on one of the rodent-residents.
Where the fox disappears under the lilac - twice - I didn't realise that was an access point.
How the fox sniffs where the cat had been and turns away.
The cheeky squirrels.
That Bobbit makes an appearance!
Clare says that the hedgehog looks very healthy, as does the fox.
Talking of foxes, my pal James says there's a lady who feeds the foxes near here and all times of day and night you can see foxes sitting outside her door waiting! I think I need to investigate.
On investigation, see how the squirrel seems to sniff the camera? Well, I was standing under the lilac doing the breathing this afternoon and the squirrel came right up to me. She was next to me on the fence, then came and climbed on the two branches I was standing between. She was, I shit you not, eight inches from my head, on one side and then the other. I stayed still. Not even moving my eyes, as she notices that. She was doing the chittering noise. I thought she might jump on me. Bite me. But now I wonder if she was sniffing and registering the same smell as had been on the camera that morning.
It was a distinctly odd experience.
Yes I've seen the squirrel inspect the webcam in past vids and have often wondered. Yes I saw Son of Bob! Didn't see Rattie ... yet. Anyway it's a super duper mostly-night video!!
