Fall at the Spring

So, I celebrated the start of Fall at the Spring (maybe I should celebrate the start of Spring at a Fall... except that there aren't any locally). I had left it too late in the day to get to Kairos for sundown.
But, as you will hear on the video, this proved to be the "right" place for the sundown sit.
No badgers or foxes appeared, but there were bats!
And, on the way out, a shy moon.

I noticed, as I have noticed before, how the sounds of the birds comes in waves. Yes, they were loudest just before the sun set, but then there were a couple of spells of near silence from them - around sunset, and then at intervals until I left, albeit with the total volume decreasing and the intervals becoming longer. But it was always tidal, had a cadence, a rhythm.
I noticed as the light departed how my vision changed. The loss of depth and colour counterbalanced by an increased sensitivity to movement.
I noticed how as the light receded, my hearing became more sensitive. The passing cars seemed two or three times as loud. My ears sought the quiet rustles from the woodland, the hidden birds.
I noticed how the place smelled different in the dark. More earthy, perhaps.
I noticed how much more, in the dark, I felt less domesticated.
