I found this pretty flower in my selection of photos for the blog. I've run out. It's been raining. I've been busy. There hasn't been much of beauty to merit the removal of the phone from the bumbag, not to say the removal of the gloves.
I can't recall where I saw these flowers nor do I know what they are.
The memories of fields not flooded and boggy are fading. I do recall the hard cracked earth and the days so glaringly hot that the dog struggled to walk. Poor boy. He had heat stroke one day. I had to keep resting him in the shade and giving him water and pieces of melon. Freshening up his cooling neckerchief (I don't know that it worked). Those blazing days! The long lone evenings and bright starlit nights. Now we face months of cold and wet and dark dark darkness.
Today I went running with my friend Leanne. She is a good runner - so thankfully it was a 'rehab' run for her. She was injured. and still rather faster than me. So, she gave me a tow. Or, rather, her dog did. Leanne and Eddie do canicross, it's a competition where people run with their dogs attached on a harness and the well-trained dogs are like sled-dogs, responding to speed and direction cues and powering through the course with their people flying behind. So Leanne strapped me on to Eddie and told him to set off and all of a sudden I was about 50% faster than usual. Each stride lengthened as the dog pulled me through the air. It was fun, exhilarating and rather scary on the slippery places.
I needed a boost and between them, Leanne and Eddie provided it. A memory to hold on to.
