Night fishing
- Crone

A while ago, I learned that herons can be flying about at night. Goodness knows why... or if indeed this is actually true. But, as it happened, this one did show up when it was very dark.
I don't know how all the artificial light impacts the fish and the heron.
Let's see if we can find out... Not entirely conclusive. it seems that when they have chicks they may well be active around the clock.
Other news from my evening wanderings... Well, this not-heron looks funkier at night than in the day time.

I've realised! It's a cormorant! Of course! It's drying its wings after a dive! Cormorants are not waterproof, so they stand and drip dry just like this sculpture. The last few days I have seen an actual cormorant. He arrives, dives twice in the lower pond, flies to the upper pond, dives once or twice and then goes. No messing around.

Wow! I love the stories from this pond!
