Night sitting

No excitement of foxes or lightning on this occasion. I chose to sit under the ancient and hollowed out lime tree.

It was cooler and the sheep had been moved. I heard rooks and pheasants settling in for the night and then saw the bats.
I wondered if they had been holed up inside the lime. A distinct possibility.
It was peaceful and I just sat. Not thinking about anything in particular.

The depth of the night.

Special way to meet with the night. Sounds like the hollow tree would make a good day-home for the bats.
