While looking into projects that might be reintroducing or relocating endangered species, I found Boom! It strikes me as quite interesting.
They are doing work with hazel dormice and pine martens, which means that maybe I could look into the issues of captive breeding one of these mammals and use them as an example.Pine martens live with their mother for quite a while and presumably have to learn from her. As populations seem quite localised, a gene-drive might work relatively rapidly in a discrete area.
So, that's kind of useful.
In the meantime, Derrick still hasn't really justified his moral position. As I am inclined to agree with it, I'd like him to do that. Hollow Kingdom continues to enchant. Definitely worth a read. My dad has ordered it on my recommendation.
He bought me Crow Country - have a squint at the review here. I think I must read this next!
CD was attentive today, though oddly wary of the little tub. I think it's because I suggested he try to retrieve a treat from a large tub and that was clearly an offensive suggestion, for which I had to pay.
Oh, I have received the crow calendar - and that is a source of great delight. Plus thermal leggings which should make the winter runs less unpleasant.
On the brief side today... a little jaded and a sore back after my journey to and from work totaled nearly five and a half hours.
