The next book on the list. It's by Stephen Clark who wrote an essay I really liked about TRUST - yes, I mentioned the issues of how we deceive animals to make them do our bidding in a previous post.
I still haven't finished Zoopolis. It's taking me some time. I've nearly finished the Viking novel I started some time ago. I get through things much faster on Audible.
It's hard to ascertain what I spend my time doing. OK, I'm watching the show about the Templars on Netflix. But only when I'm eating or cooking. Honest. Then there's the two walks with dog and crows. The run or trip to the gym. Work for various employers. Cleaning the house. Vaguely attempting art occasionally. Volunteering once a week. Counseling. Philosophy chat with Richard. Blog writing. Baths. Multi-species tooth-brushing. Meditation. Sleeping and oversleeping and trying to get to sleep. Today, the dog has his vibration session. Tomorrow the car returns to the garage who screwed up screwing in a new light. Talking to my dad.
That's pretty much it.
I guess that as well as being dismal about my own artistic attempts, I feel rather dismal about all philosophical attempts to consider other animals.
And perhaps this double-dismality is a means to not focus on the dismal state of my social and love life, my future work life and my long-term financial security. Better to be pissed off at paints and angry with ethicists than actually to engage with all THAT.
Yeah, so, back to Zoopolis and an attempt to draw a crow.
Yes!! xxx
What an interesting blog post! Thanks for sharing your week. I may try drawing that crow too ...
