Well, maybe I'm not branching out. I'm seeing the same crows and giving them the same things and not performing any of the experiments with pots and leaves - essentially because the seagulls watch so carefully that I always feel in a bit of a rush. That's a silly reason as seagulls don't seem inclined to find hidden things. The whole flock of them launch in on clearly visible things. The gulls have a pack mentality. The crows are individuals first, family second. Like us.
Anyhoo, CD has responded to clicks twice more since that recording. Very sweet. He has also 'given' me another twig. He broke it off as I was talking to him and then dropped it. I don't think he intended to drop it - he intended to fiddle with it. I picked it up and showed it to him and he watched me with great interest.
Divo and Diva come a little closer and Diva has learnt that if she's to get a special treat before Divo nabs it or the seagulls get it, she has to be a little bit braver.
Mr Fluffy's leg seems completely fine now. No sign of a limp at all. That has made me very happy.
The other day, the Feisties were out in force - six of them at least, including the Fluffy Feisty and the Scruffy Feisty. One of them is very cheeky. She flies around to grab my attention and leads me back to the Feisty-Zone but she also insists on eating with the Fluffies and Divos. Both chase her away - like irritated adults faced with a child rather than with a great deal of aggression. She just keeps on going back.
I'm excited to think that they will be nesting soon.
Good crow report. You can see individuals responding, learning, healing.
